WVCC Junior Golf
WVCC takes great pride in hosting such a fine and well attended junior golf program. This program is designed to fit juniors from the ages of 6-16 and is formatted to accommodate all skill levels. There are six different categories for the juniors to play in varying by the number of holes and yardage so itís a great way to start out and gradually get into the swing of things.
The junior golf season spans from mid-May through mid-August when it is formally celebrated with the annual Junior Golf Championship Tournament and the season ending awards dinner, which is always a sell out.
Junior golfers enjoy personal interaction with Willamette Valley Country Clubís PGA teaching professionals as well as many volunteers who are there to escort, assist, and answer questions. Junior golfers are placed in peer groups by age, skill or both. Children and grandchildren of members are invited to join this fine program and bring a guest.
PGA Junior League
For those slightly more adventurous and looking for a taste of other golf courses, one of our teaching professionals created a separate junior golf program here at Willamette Valley Country Club. Scott Rath, 2015 PGA Teacher of the Year, implemented a junior league which provides golfers the opportunity to play other courses in the area. This series features six to eight tournaments in a scramble format. For junior golfers this provides a fun team environment to meet other players and learn new skills.
